Ross Bott Joins FlashPoint's Board of Directors
Raleigh, NC - May 13, 2005 - FlashPoint announced today that Ross Bott has joined the company's Board of Directors.
"Ross brings a long history in successfully managing both small and large technology companies, and we look forward to his guidance in taking FlashPoint to the next level," said Stan Fry, FlashPoint's Chairman and CEO.
In the past five years, Mr. Bott has combined interim CEO roles in several high tech startups in wireless, enterprise software and systems while working as a partner in Redpoint Ventures (Silicon Valley), Brainheart Capital (Sweden), and Vision Capital (US and Europe).
Prior to these roles, Mr. Bott was founding CEO of Onebox.com, a leading provider of Web-based communications services. Bott launched Onebox and grew it to 3+ million users in 9 months before its acquisition by Phone.com (now Openwave), where he remained as COO. Mr. Bott was formerly an Executive VP at Adobe Systems, with responsibility for the divisions which produced and marketed all of Adobe's products, and a Senior VP at SGI, where he founded their commercial server division and grew it into a $450M business in four years. Bott earlier was CTO at Pyramid Technology, and at Xerox PARC.
Mr. Bott holds a BS in Mathematics from Stanford and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of California, San Diego.
